Poetry in Plain Sight Annual Reading
Oberlin Regional Library April 4, 2026 I am happy to be included in the Poetry in Plain Sight program for the 2026-27 season. This is the 7th time since 2018 that I have had a poem accepted into this fantastic program that posts poems in public spaces every month across North Carolina.

4th Grade Poetry Slam September 27, 2019 with Bartholomew Barker 2018 Flyleaf Books Poetry Contest October 14, 2018 I am honored to have my poem, "Chemistry," selected by poet Peter Makuck as the 1st place entry in the 2018 Flyleaf Books Poetry contest. I read with Debra Kaufman and Kevin Rippin. 
2019 North Carolina Poetry Society Awards Day May 11, 2019 I received 2nd place for the Poetry of Witness award. I was very honored again to share this day with the other winners!

Holly Springs 2018 Book Festival September 29, 2018 Featured speaker, Jaki Shelton Green, NC Poet Laureate 2018 North Carolina Poetry Society Awards Day May 13, 2018 I received honorable mention for the Thomas H. McDill award (a poem of any form or style and that is less than 70 lines). It was a great day and I was honored to read with the other winners! 2018 Nazim Hikmet Poetry Festival April 8, 2018 I read at the 2018 Nazim Hikmet Poetry Festival April 8 in Cary, NC as one of the honorable mentions in their annual poetry competition. I look forward to this festival every year and was grateful to be a second-time honorable mention and to have the opportunity to read the poems I submitted. Thank you to the American Turkish Association of NC and to the Town of Cary for organizing this event! Blue Heron Review Featured Author I was happy to be the December 2018 featured author for Blue Heron Review. BHR is an online journal that has been very supportive of my poetry.
